1. Human rights refer to the fundamental rights and freedoms to which all human beings are entitled. Examples of human rights and freedoms include civil and political rights such as the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law; and social, cultural and economic rights, including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, the right to work, and the right to education. Human Rights is one of the three pillars on which the United Nations System rests. As stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the recognition of the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.
