NGO Committee for Social Development
The NGO Committee for Social Development is dedicated to raising awareness and holding discussions on social development issues taken up by the United Nations (UN) System and in particular by the UN Commission for Social Development. The Committee also advocates on social development issues in other forums such as the Commission for Sustainable Development, Commission on the Status of Women, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and the General Assembly. Committee members keep one another informed and deliver group statements to the UN voicing ideas and positions on key social development issues. In addition, the Committee is focused on reviewing the outcome of the World Summit on Social Development.
The NGO Committee believes that every person, every people, every nation has a part to play in building peaceful, prosperous global family. Members are dedicated to promoting people-centered development though the United Nations.

The Commission for Social Development 2009: Social Integration
The Civil Society Forum, which was preceding the Commission for Social Development, provided members of the civil society community the opportunity to learn about various projects showcasing social inclusion in various parts of the world while at the same time being able to interact with various panelists and actively contributing to the Civil Society Declaration, which is reflecting the values of the civil society in regards to social integration.
